From making the games, i learned that there are many new sorts of games that i was previously unaware of (like Sorceror's Game). Plus, board games have proven to require more time than i thought: such as drawing the board and making all the cards.
Both board game design and computer game design require similar planning processes. The creation of each is sometimes tedious, but they should both be planned out methodically to ensure an easier modification period later. They are different in that you can test out computer games after each addition you make to it, whereas board games usually won't work unless the entire game is complete. It is also easier to update computer games than board games.
I like Risk, Monopoly, Hilarium, and Cranium the most. Risk requires lots of skill and planning, and both risk and monopoly incorporate a level of luck. Monopoly also demands bargaining skills w/ personal gains. Hilarium is fun b/c it is an acting game which makes any boring night a lot more exciting, whether you win or lose. I like cranium b/c it combines artistic prowess w/ team chemistry and brains.
